Grand Junction -
The Colorado National Monument, a series of canyons and mesas similar to the Grand Canyon overlook the ciy. Grand Junction is located 20 miles east of the Utah State Line on Interstate 70. It is about 4,597 feet above sea level in what is called 'high desert' country.
Colorado is the splendor of the Rockies, vast sand dunes, and ancient Indian ruins blended with memories of mining camps, pioneers, and the Santa Fe Trail.
Golden Gate Canyon State Park, some 40 miles are covered by 13 trails, ranging from just over a mile to nearly six miles. The bes vista, however, is not far from the road. Panorama Point offers nearly a 100-mile view of the towering Continental Divide.
